RCB VS MI

The clash between the mighty RCB and MI turned into one of the most dramatic games of IPL 2026. Fans at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur witnessed a nerve-wracking contest that went right down to the final delivery. In the end, RCB held their nerve and secured a stunning 2-wicket victory over MI in Match 54 of the season

Struggle After Early Collapse

After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians were sent in to bat first. Their innings got off to a disastrous start as they lost three quick wickets inside the powerplay. However, Tilak Varma played a brilliant rescue act with a fighting 57 runs off 42 balls. Naman Dhir also contributed an important 47, helping Mumbai recover from early trouble.

Despite the recovery, Bengaluru’s bowling attack kept things under control. Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a masterclass with the ball, picking up four crucial wickets and stopping Mumbai from reaching a huge total. Mumbai eventually finished at 166/7 in 20 overs, a score that looked competitive on the tricky Raipur pitch.

RCB Chase Begins in Disaster

The chase started horribly for Bengaluru as star batter Virat Kohli departed for a duck in the very first over. Mumbai’s bowlers kept striking regularly, and suddenly Bengaluru were struggling badly at 39/3.

Just when the pressure seemed too much, Krunal Pandya stepped up with one of the finest innings of the season. Battling cramps and immense tension, he smashed a brilliant 73 runs from 46 balls. His knock included fearless boundaries and massive sixes that slowly brought Bengaluru back into the contest.

Final Over Drama

The final few overs were packed with drama. Mumbai appeared to regain control after Krunal Pandya’s wicket, and the equation became extremely tight. Jasprit Bumrah bowled a sensational spell and almost turned the match in Mumbai’s favour.

But cricket always has room for late twists.

Needing runs off the final ball, Bengaluru held their nerves and completed the chase in dramatic fashion to finish at 167/8. The stadium erupted as the Bengaluru dugout celebrated one of their most thrilling wins of IPL 2026.

What This Win Means

This victory pushed RCB to the top of the IPL 2026 points table and strengthened their playoff chances. On the other hand, the heartbreaking defeat officially ended Mumbai Indians’ playoff hopes this season.

For Bengaluru fans, this match was more than just two points. It was a reminder that their team can fight under pressure and win impossible games. From early collapses to last-ball heroics, this contest had everything an IPL fan could ask for.
